Patriots draft RB James White, OT Cameron Fleming in 4th round

The Patriots continued to think offense on Day 3 of the NFL draft, adding running back James White and offensive tackle Cameron Fleming with their final two fourth round picks.

Taken with the 130th selection, White was a bit of a surprise pick. He was productive for four years at Wisconsin, but was always in the shadow of his more-heralded teammates (including Montee Ball). He is a solid, versatile back who should contribute in a rotation, but many had him lasting into the sixth round. The Patriots chose White over higher upside prospects such as Lance Seastrunk and Storm Johnson.

Ten picks later, the Pats were back at the podium, closing out the fourth round by taking Stanford right tackle Cameron Fleming with the 140th pick. Fleming is a big, physical right tackle who many had projected as a Day 2 pick, so the Patriots might have gotten good value with their selection. While he won't be projected to start as a rookie, his presence as a depth option could allow the team to move Marcus Cannon to guard, where he'd likely be an upgrade over the declining play of Dan Connolly.

The Patriots currently don't have a pick now until the sixth round, when they have three picks. We'll keep you posting on every develop here on PatriotsLife.
