Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is a big fan of Dominique Easley

Everyone in the NFL knows the Seahawks have one of the best, if not still the best, defense in the NFL. And after their Super Bowl destruction, everyone wants to build their D just like the Hawks.

So hearing Dan Quinn, the Seahawks' defensive coordinator (and Easley's D line coach at Florida for two years) heap praise onto Patriots' rookie defensive tackle Dominique Easley is pretty encouraging:
“I really do [think Easley will succeed in the NFL] because of — one, the mind-set of the guy in terms of attitude. You’ve been around the guys who have it, and this guy has it.

Two, he really has some unique skills because of that unique quickness that he has. I think when you combine those two things — mentally strong and tough, and then add the initial quickness part of it — I think he’ll find his own role how he can help the team. I think once that starts to work itself out and when he gets healthy, he’ll be rolling.”

Really, you just had a sense that the guy is a relentless worker. There was no doubt that this setback was going to hold him back. When he got hurt again, I talked to him that night or the night after and he was kind of already onto, ‘Alright, I’m going to get surgery and I’ll be back.’ He’s really got an attitude about him, from the mind-set of what it takes — he’s tough.”

It spoke volumes that once the Patriots drafted Easley, the Seahawks immediately traded their first round pick to Minnesota. The Hawks wanted Easley and obviously Quinn wanted him even more.

But now we have him, and I can't wait to see what this guy can do.
