Wes Welker screwed over some guy in a contest
Wes Welker is a real nice guy.
OR SO WE THOUGHT.
According to TMZ, he was kind of a dick in this one instance.
This dates back to his time as a Patriot, on January 18th, 2012.
Welker held a contest asking fans to name his racehorse for him. One fan won with the name, Move the Chains, and was promised that he'd get flown out to hang out with Welker at the race.
OF COURSE THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
Welker promised the fan, Nick Boyle, that he'd set everything up for him and that he'd take care of everything, but eventually Welker unfollowed Boyle and never came through on his end of the bargain.
Welker's horse won second this past weekend in one of the races at Churchill Downs nobody cares about. It went under the name Undrafted because someone already named their horse Move the Chains. Boyle was promised the reward despite this.
No word yet on whether Welker simply forgot about this, or if he's an evil person.
Knowing the internet, it is ready to believe he's evil. What about you?
