Revis feels like he doesn't have to prove anything

Darrelle Revis, formerly the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, best defensive back in the league now has some serious competition for that tittle; mainly Richard Sherman. Though both corners have some of the greatest skills in the league, Sherman put on a championship performance that helped the greatest defense in the league win the Super Bowl. Sherman voiced his opinion that he was the best and immediately followed it with superb play.

Revis on the other hand was one of the few bright spots on a young Buccaneers team that never seemed to be a playoff threat. He played well, but did not put on the show that Sherman did last season. Though the two have traded shots in the past regarding who is the better player, Revis seems to now adopt a more Patriot-like approach to the game:
"No, I don't feel like I have to prove nothing to anybody. The only thing I have to prove is to my teammates, that I'm there for them and I'm there to win games and help us win," he told the Boston Globe's Shalise Manza Young.

It is probably fair to say that Sherman one-up'd Revis last season and took a leap ahead of him on most people's list of 'best CB's in the NFL'. In the end, Sherman also has a Super Bowl ring that Revis still does not. For Revis, that ring seems to be the only thing that matters to him at this point. Sherman backed up all of his talk that he was the best cornerback in the NFL, now let's see if Revis backs up all his championship aspiration talk.
