Wes Welker on playbookgate: Brady "just playing mind games"

Ah the playbook-gate.... seems to follow us throughout every aspect of our team.
According to Wes Welker, the infamous playbook scandal was just mind games at a friends wedding. According to Profootballtalk.com, Welker and Brady were at a wedding with Mike Smith, who is the offensive coordinator at Texas Tech. But at the time of the wedding, he was the offensive coordinator with the New York Jets. Brady told smith during that time that they had the Jets playbook, all in playful banter.
“Every little bit helps, but at the same time I don’t know. It might [help]. Not that I know of. My best friend from college was on the staff there with the Jets, Mike Smith, and we would always make stuff up with each other. Tom got to know Mike as well. Mike would say, ‘Oh so-and-so is gonna cover you in the game — actually no we’re just gonna double team you.’ And I would make stuff up too. Every once in a while you throw something true in there just to throw him off. It was just playing mind games a little bit.”
Welker seems to think that it is more of playful banter and fun instead of anything serious...
Maybe the critics can be happy now?
