Patriots ranked 5th in pre-camp rankings

In a recent article Rotoworld's Evan Silva ranked the top 10 teams going into training camp. The New England Patriots checked in at number five on the list behind the Seahawks, Broncos, 49ers and the Saints.

Now preseason rankings are a lot like what you're going to say to your wife to explain that expensive purchase you just made. A whole lot of thought goes into it but it rarely turns out how you had planned it.

But no matter where the Patriots might fall in these rankings, the outlook for the season looks promising. Last year, inexperience and injuries proved to be too difficult to overcome. But add names like Wilfork, Mayo, Gronk, Vollmer and new additions Revis, Browner and Easley to a team that made it to the AFC Championship game and its quite easy to see why Patriots fans are excited for the season to start. And if last years rookies make that second year leap and the offense can limit its turnovers (I'm looking at you Ridley) then a shot at ring #4 isn't out of the question
