Patriots still front runner for Dustin Keller

If chances for Jermichael Finley are high for the Patriots then the chances for Keller are through the roof.

The tight end who has lived in the AFC East, met with the Patriots in April, and as reported by Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald has remained in contact with the team since then. However Keller is in no rush to comeback and risk another bad injury, he prefers to wait it out and insure himself he can play at a high level. Tom Pelissero of USA Today Sports Tweeted this this week.
Keller would be a wicked fit at the flex TE position and could compliment Gronk really well, maybe even better than Finley.

Their numbers are virtually the same: Finley 70 games making 223 catches for 2,785 yards (12.5 yards per catch) and 20 touchdowns. Keller: 72 games and caught 241 balls for 2,876 yards (11.9 yards per catch) and 17 touchdowns.

The only difference? Keller played with Sanchez and Finley played with Aaron Freakin Rodgers! Keller has been playing in the AFC East his whole career and knows exactly what it takes to compete in this division. The TE also knows our new offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo (New York Jets) and played under TE coach Brian Daboll his rookie year in NY. Keep your eyes peeled for this signing as it could be a big one for NE in the next couple of weeks.
