The Buffalo Bills: The most unintentionally funny team in the NFL

The most comical feature of the NFL offseason/preseason is when bad teams think they have a chance to be good.

And, news coming out of Buffalo is that C.J. Spiller feels good about the Bills chances this season. NBC’s ProFootballTalk reported Spiller as saying, “Everybody is confident in what we’re doing and hopefully that will bring better things.” He was quick to add a disclaimer, however, “But there’s a ton of work to be done before September 7 against the Bears.”

Spiller was specifically referring to his team's running game; although, even with the NFL’s second best rushing attack of 2013 the Bills were only able to win six games and finished at the bottom of the AFC East.

Buffalo's ability to make us laugh is nothing new. The Bills have been at this for years. A few other chuckle-worthy items throughout Buffalo's history include:

- They are the third most popular NFL team in New York despite being the only actual team that plays in New York State

- EJ Manuel was nine years old the last time the Bills made the playoffs (the Bills lost in the Wild Card to the Titans on the legendary Music City Miracle play)

- Buffalo is the only NFL franchise to have played in four consecutive Super Bowls, all four ending in defeat

Lastly, Brandon Spikes' delusional tweet from earlier this offseason might be funny if it weren’t so sad and unrealistic:

Unfortunately, for Spikes, there might not be much to dance about this season.
