How many Regular season games will the Patriots win this season? Over/Under: 12.5
Time to start up the yearly Over/Under Series where we predict where the team and players will end up in a variety of major categories. Kicking it off this year is how many games the team will win in the regular season.
Over/Under: 12.5 Wins
Prediction: Over (14 Wins)
The team has finished 12-4 the last two years. I think that enough talent has been added this time around that the Patriots will win at least two more during the regular season this year. Below is their regular season schedule and how I see the wins/losses shaking out:
Week 1- @ Miami: WIN
Week 2- @Minnesota: WIN
Week 3- vs. Oakland: WIN
Week 4- @ Kansas City: WIN
Week 5- vs. Cincinatti: WIN
Week 6- @ Buffalo: WIN
Week 7- vs. New York: WIN
Week 8- vs. Chicago: WIN
Week 9- vs. Denver: WIN
Week 10- BYE
Week 11- @Indianapolis: LOSS
Week 12- vs. Detroit: WIN
Week 13- @ Green Bay: LOSS
Week 14- @ San Diego: WIN
Week 15: vs. Miami: WIN
Week 16: @ New York: WIN
As my predicition reflects, I have alot of confidence in this year's team to be dominant. Games where I had trouble giving them the win were Week 6 @ Buffalo (they always struggle at Ralph Wilson and always have an early season slip-up, and Week 14 in San Diego). San Diego is a good team who beat Denver last year and I think could give the Patriots problems especially when they will be coming off a tough game in Green Bay. That 4 game stretch (during which I have the Pats suffering their two losses at Indy and at Green Bay) will really be the toughest test for the 2014 Patriots.
