Michael Sam cut by the Rams. Are the Pats interested?

Looks like Michael Sam's journey into the NFL has had a minor setback. The St. Louis Rams decided to cut the defensive end from the University of Missouri. The move does not come as a surprise given the depth the Rams had at the position. Despite the bump in the road, Michael Sam remains optimistic that he will end on an NFL roster. Hard to disagree with Sam given his stats. In four exhibition games, Sam racked up 11 tackles and 3 sacks.

So the question on everyone's mind is where will Michael Sam end up? Leading up to the draft, the Patriots were seen as a possible destination for Sam. Belichick likes players with solid work ethics. Plus, the Pats would be able to handle the media circus that unfortunately comes with Michael Sam. I truly believe that Michael Sam is determined and could become a great player within the right system. If the Patriots were to pass, two other times that might pick him up would be: San Francisco (suspension of Aldon Smith) or Seattle (looking to add defensive depth). If Sam were to slip by all other teams, he could end up right back in St. Louis as a practice team member.

All in all, I think Michael Sam will sleep easy knowing that his NFL dreams will come true.
