Pats among teams putting in a waiver for Michael Bowie

According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots were one of several teams putting in a waiver for Seattle Seahawks right tackle Michael Bowie.

The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys also put in claims for Bowie after he was waived by the Seahawks when they discovered that he needed shoulder surgery, according to a report by Field Gulls. Per Field Gulls, if/when he clears waivers, he'll be placed on the injured reserve. Unspoken etiquette in the league dictates that teams don't claim players off waivers with major injuries, i.e. Bowie, but if there's been one team who hasn't really paid attention to that rule, it's been the Pats with Jake Ballard a few years ago and Tyler Gaffney this year.
