Reche Caldwell arrested for 3rd time in 8 months
Darrin Grant, NBC Sports Pro Football Talk:
Former NFL wide receiver Reche Caldwell was arrested on Sunday for the third time this year, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Caldwell, 35, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. In May, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance for signing for a USPS package that contained 4.8 pounds of MDMA, according to CBSDC TV.
He was also charged with running an illegal gambling house and bookmaking in January.
It has to be the eyes. That look of the deer in the headlights was the same look as that dropped pass in the end zone against the Colts in the 2006 AFC title game. The drop of the screen pass in the same game was another beauty. Three arrests in eight months. That is more consistent than he was on the playing field.
Reche has been out of the NFL since being cut by the St. Louis Rams in preseason in 2008. He last played with the Washington Redskins in 2007. He graced the New England Patriots with his presence and 61 catches in 2006 from QB Tom Brady. It should also be noted that Caldwell is a former receiver from the University of Florida.
The University of Florida often finds themselves at the top of the list in enrolling high school Valedictorians. Merriam-Webster defines Valedictorian as, "the student usually having the highest rank in a graduating class who delivers the valedictory address at the commencement exercises". The opposite of a valedictorian is a dunce which the University of Florida has in abundance. Care to guess which side of the spectrum Reche falls on?
152 lifetime passes caught in 6 NFL seasons. At the rate he is progressing, Reche will have been caught more times off the field than on.
