Speedy runner Roy Finch released by team


In what appears to be pretty good news for Brandon Bolden, the Patriots have parted ways with two running backs today.

Jonas Gray was released earlier, and soon after reports have come in that speedy runner Roy Finch will not make the squad.



Finch comes as a bit of a surprise as he flashes quite a bit during training camp. He was a speedy back with good quickness, however he wasn't able to nail down a spot on special teams with some fumbles early on in preseason. In the end, this likely made him expendable.

It's a shame as he could've added a dynamic threat as depth to the oft-injured Shane Vereen. The Pats may try to squeeze Finch on the practice squad.
