Darrelle Revis calls Bill Belichick a "genius" says its a priviledge to play for him

As Darrelle Revis and his fellow defensive stars came to the sideline during the NFL Pro Bowl in 2011, Bill Belichick was seen on film saying, "Great job, great job" to the players returning from the field. "I can't believe I'm saying this to you, but great job", Belichick said when Revis passed.

Of course, back then, Revis was an archrival of the New England Patriots. "Revis Island" resided in New York with the Jets, a team that had just shocked the world by sending Belichick and his Pats to the Pro Bowl after a divisional round upset win in Foxborough.

Now? Belichick should be telling Revis, "great job" quite a bit.

Revis once called Belichick a jerk and moaned about Bill's rumored taunting of the Jets defense back in 2011.

Now? He's singing a much different tune.

Boston Herald:
“He’s a genius,” Revis told the Herald. “I feel he’s a genius. He’s smart. He’s been through every football situation that you can think of, and it’s good to be around a guy who has that much knowledge of the game and can tell you the details in and out about it. And even tell you about his past experiences with him coaching at the Giants and other places."

There are two perceptions of Bill Belichick around the league. 1. that he's a genius 2. that he's a jerk. Revis has apparently reconciled both.

The two did have a conversation about their tumultuous relationship when Revis joined the team. They've decided to put past qualms behind them and work together towards the same goal.

NESN:
“Me and Bill, we had a conversation about it, and it’s in the past,” Revis said. “We’re both moving forward, and we’re excited about working together and trying to win games. I think that’s the biggest goal here, is to win games.”

Revis has even called Belichick a player's coach. It is good to see that past differences can be put aside

Herald:
“It’s just good to have a coach like that who understands the game in and out,” Revis said. “I feel very privileged. I think a lot of guys on this team feel very privileged because we’re playing with a coach who can take us the distance throughout the playoffs and to the championship like he’s done before.”
