How many interceptions will Darrelle Revis have? Over/Under: 4
The start of the regular season is almost upon us. I don't know about you but I can hardly wait!
The writers here at Patriots Life have been playing the Over/Under game. This time, we are looking at how many interceptions that our superstar defensive back, Darrelle Revis (commonly known as Revis Island), will have this season.
Over/Under: 4 interceptions
Prediction: 3 interceptions (Under)
As Revis heads into his eighth season in the league, he is averaging three interceptions per season. Revis had more than 4 interceptions in only two seasons (2008 & 2009). Quarterbacks obviously thought that they could throw in his direction in 2008 & 2009. Since 2009, Revis has a total of 7 interceptions. The message was sent loud and clear that if opposing quarterbacks want to keep possession, they better not throw in his direction.
At the end of the day, it will be hard to intercept the ball if it is not thrown his way. For this reason alone is why Revis will have three interceptions. The only way I see Revis getting more than four is courtesy of a rookie QB (like Derek Carr) or if the Jets are feeling sassy and try to test Revis. Even if Revis has zero interceptions, he is a valuable addition to the Patriots defense and will shut down any receiver that he faces (except for me of course!).
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
