The Patriots defense showed up big in the Patriots week two victory against the Vikings. The Vikings came out and scored on their first drive to take an early 7-0 lead, and Patriots fans thought they were in for another long game this week. The Patriots defense took over the game after that score, recording four interceptions, four sacks and a blocked field goal.
Chandler Jones blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown to give the Patriots a 24-7 lead at halftime, and the running game rebounded this week as Stevan Ridley rushed the ball twenty five times for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Tom Brady and the Patriots offense was able to return to form as he threw the ball fifteen times for 149 yards and one touchdown. Julian Edelman accounted for a receiving touchdown in the victory. Logan Ryan, Darrelle Revis, Devin McCourty, and Dominque Easley all had interceptions off of the Vikings Matt Cassel.
The Patriots win this game 30-7 and will return home next week as they take on the Oakland Raiders in week 3.
