This isn't much of a surprise, as five out of six of these players have served as captains for the last couple of seasons. The only change is Connolly, who is essentially taking the spot vacated by Logan Mankins.
Connolly was thought to be on the bubble in terms of a roster spot this season due to his $4 million salary. But the Patriots need all the versatility on the offensive line that they can get, and Connolly can play either guard position and center if needed.
Plus, who wants to get rid of a guy who once did this?
That will forever be one of my favorite Patriots moments of all time.
