Tom Brady in decline?
So here's the thing. Tom Brady isn't having the best start in the world this season, that part we know. But the Patriots are 2-1 and things seem to be going just a bit better on our end. But is Tom Brady in decline? Skip Bayless isn't denying the argument that he is.
"I see that stat that Tom Brady is the worst in the league on accuracy at this point through three games. Twenty-seven percent of his passes are termed misthrows so far, that’s underthrows or overthrows. Twenty-seven percent. We’re talking about Tom Brady here."
Okay, I'll be the first to admit that when looking at that stat, it is ugly.. Twenty-seven percent being deemed a misthrow?! That is a TON of misthrows for Brady, and quite honestly, I can't remember the last time Brady had a stat that bad.
I will go out on a limb here and say that Brady is NOT in decline, but I am agreeing with ESPN when they say part of the reason Brady is so bad is because the offensive line is horrid. They can't stop a single thing that comes their way, and it is becoming a serious issue. Brady is down to just over one second in the pocket before being pressured, and that means he has zero time to let the play develop and find his receiver. His numbers are amazing considering the O-line is just horrific.
If the Pats stay in the win column then I have no complaints.. If we lose Monday night then it is a whole other issue, but thats for next week.
