Former Patriots running back and fan favorite Danny Woodhead suffered a broken leg yesterday.
The injury happened on the San Diego Chargers opening drive against the Buffalo Bills. He remained down after the play and was carted to the locker room.
The Chargers placed Woodhead on injured reserve today effectively ending his season.
Mike McCoy says Danny Woodhead suffered broken fibula. Headed to season-ending IR. "We're going to miss him. But we've got to move on."

Former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel also suffered an injury Sunday. He appears to have a broken foot.

No time table has been set for Cassel's return but it will be several weeks at the least. Leaving the door open for rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater to take over Cassel's starting job. Cassel was off to a shaky start to the season and Vikings fans were already chanting for Bridgewater during the lopsided loss to the Patriots.
