Vince Wilfork gets late INT, but lack of turnovers is concerning

Vince Wilfork celebrates his interception.
The Patriots had just 1 turnover against a weak Oakland Raiders team all game, an interception by Vince Wilfork with 59 seconds left in the game, making it the first game in which they didn't have multiple turnovers (3 agains Miami, 4 against Minnesota). Granted, the lone turnover the Patriots had came at the best possible time - with 59 seconds left at their own 5 to prevent a late game-tying touchdown from the Raiders.

BUT the lack of turnovers worries me, especially against a team like Oakland. I expected a lot of turnovers by the Patriots defense (see my prediction in this week's roundtable) against a rookie quarterback. That didn't happen. Not that they didn't play well - they held Oakland to 3 field goals, but I think they could have played a lot better. Most fans probably expected 9 points or something around that total for the Raiders, but the fact that the Pats D only forced one turnover against Oakland is worrying.

Most of us probably expected the Patriots to get to rookie quarterback Derek Carr a lot more and force some bad throws. I'm glad they won, but they'll have to force more than 1 turnover a game if they expect to compete for that 4th championship. They can't compete with the likes of Denver if they're not forcing turnovers.
