Bill Belichick is impressed by workout efforts from Tim Wright

Tim Wright is an undrafted wide receiver who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the April, 2013 draft. He is converted to tight end in June before training camp and makes the Tampa Bay roster. I don't Bill Belichick is surprised that his new tight end works so hard.

On the field for only 19 of the 84 Patriot's offensive plays, it is impressive for Tim to catch five balls for 85 yards against the Cincinnati Bengals. Offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels must be seeing the same things that Bill Belichick is witnessing in practice. I think the overall plan is to work Tim into the offense slowly. Being targeted in over 20% of the plays isn't slow. It is called "progress."

Chris Wesseling, NFL:
The Patriots have wanted to remain cautious with Gronkowski's workload this preseason. Wright is a "move" tight end, similar to the role free-agent TE Aaron Hernandez used to play with the team.

The work in the classroom is translating to success on the field. If you add in the fact that Tim has to gain weight so he can handle the battles in the trenches while maintaining his 4.65 40 yard speed, it is pretty impactful.

The New England Patriots took a leap of faith in trading their best offensive lineman in Logan Mankins for an unknown, undersized tight end. Bill Belichick knew Tim could make the transition. Is there anything Bill doesn't know about players from Rutgers?
