Video: Shane Vereen pays tribute to Stevan Ridley with touchdown celebration

Anybody else still catching their breath after last night's nail biter against the Jets? The game kept me on the edge of my seat like a Christopher Nolan suspense film. One standout from last night definitely was the play of Shane Vereen.

The Patriots back answered the question of who would step up in the absence of Stevan Ridley. Vereen managed to rack up 71 yards receiving with two TDs.

After making a leaping grab for his first touchdown (above), Vereen paid tribute to Ridley by doing his trademark "Kick the door in" end zone celebration. Vereen's tribute clearly demonstrated how much the Patriots miss Stevan Ridley.

Even Brady chimed in during his postgame presser.

"That's a guy in your room, probably one of the guys you're closest with on the whole team," Brady said last night. "For him to lose someone that's pretty close to him as Shane did and Jonas did and Brandon Bolden did and really a guy who was a real leader for that group too. Everyone has to take on some different roles with Stevan out. It's a tough injury. Stevan will be back better than ever. If there's one thing I know about him, it's his mental toughness, his work ethic and how much he loves football."

Hopefully Vereen can keep it going as they face the Bears next week.
