What the Chicago Bears locker room feud means for this week

via Sports Mockery
Reports were surfacing from all the major sports outlets that the Chicago Bears locker room blew up following an embarrassing loss to the Miami Dolphins. Brandon Marshall called out Jay Cutler, and players needed to be escorted out of the locker room. Frustrations for a talented team have finally reached its peak, so what does this mean heading into week 8 against New England?

Two things could happen: New England could be facing a team divided, which would result in a relatively easy win, especially when you consider the fact that the game is at Gillete Stadium. We could also see a similar situation to what happened when New England got blown out by Kansas City. Chicago has hit rock bottom, just like New England did, and New England came out inspired and fired up the next week and took it to the Bengals. Chicago could very well do the same, resulting in a competitive game.

Chicago isn't known for having that "bounce-back" character the Patriots have (that doesn't mean they can't), so the Patriots will be licking their chops at the opportunity to jump on a vulnerable team early. This game will tell us a lot about the Bears.

I expect Chicago to come out inspired. These are grown men who just got embarrassed. They'll want to show they can play better than that. If they come out divided, they've already lost. It could happen, but don't expect it.

That being said, if the Patriots jump on them fast, it could turn ugly very quickly. Chicago will be thinking "oh no not again", and as soon as that happens, it's over.

Regardless of how Chicago comes out, it doesn't change the fact that they are a sensitive team right now. They will have to start hot in order to have a chance and build some momentum. This game will either come down to the wire or be a blowout...and it will all depend on the start.
