Should Andrew Luck be an MVP candidate?

Andrew Luck is proving himself to be one of the elite QBs this year, there's no doubt about that. He is leading one of the leagues most high powered offenses in the Indianapolis Colts, but does that make him an MVP candidate?

That question depends on how many people you consider to be candidates. At this juncture in the season, I like to have it narrowed down to a top three, and I don't have Andrew Luck on that list. The list is Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and DeMarco Murray.

Tom Brady has been the best quarterback in the league since the Monday night blowout against the Chiefs, shredding any defense he faces.

Peyton Manning is a very close second. Peyton Manning has been Peyton Manning this year, but took a step back when he played very poorly against tough competition in the New England Patriots.

DeMarco Murray is third on this list because he has been nearly unstoppable, only being held to less than 100 yards rushing once. He has a great shot of breaking the single season record, and is the reason the Cowboys are where they are. He actually has more rushing yards by himself than most teams have.

Andrew Luck is a great quarterback, no doubt. I'd have him at number number if we were doing a top five list, right behind Rob Gronkowski. The only thing holding him back is that he is still making some mistakes. He has thrown nine interceptions this season, or in other words, he's throwing an interception a game. He had nine all of last year. Compare to Brady, who has only thrown three.

If Andrew Luck can limit his mistakes, he has a shot at being a legitimate MVP candidate. He belongs in the discussion, but isn't quite there yet.
