The least interesting game in the world

James P McCoy/Buffalo News

Have you ever watched paint dry? Have you ever waited an hour in the doctor's office? Ever been on a long road trip and you have no radio or mp3 player to listen to? Then you my friend have an idea of what it was like to watch this Thursday night snooze fest.

The main takeaway from this game has to be the uninspired red zone offenses from both teams. Coming into this game both teams had a horrendous red zone scoring percentage (for touchdowns). Buffalo was ranked dead last in the NFL with 41.18% and Miami ranked 30th with 46.51%. Their division rivals the Jets rank 29th 46.67, Pats rank 13th.

The first half lead only to field goals by both sides playing very conservative and Tannehill fumbling in the red zone. Miami was able to put up points in the second half due to two long drives and a Buffalo drawing a controversial safety.

Tannehill did what he has been doing all season, looking mediocre in the first half and coming strong in the second half leading him to be the unquestionable starter. Orton on the other hand looked like a guy just trying to hold onto a starting job. It didn't help that his offensive line didn't give him much time. Tannehill didn't have much time either with the injury to starting tackle Branden Albert but he was still able to help his team score points unlike Orton.

Some other notes of the contest are that Buffalo has not found their franchise quarterback. Look for them to be well below .500 come January and for the Patriots to man handle them when they face off in Gillette.

The Dolphins are a great second half team with a tough defense, but they can't seem to throw the ball down field. There were many times when Miami wide receivers were behind the defense and Tannehill never even looked their way leading me to believe that they have generally given up on big down field plays. The Patriots secondary is one of the best in the league and their main concern will be to contain Tannehill who went on a 15 yard scamper late in the game.

Honestly I'm done talking about two teams who have almost zero to no chance of making a Super Bowl run, so for your enjoyment here are some Jim Gaffigan tweets during tonight's game!
