Dominique Easley to Injured Reserve?

After being missing the game against the Detroit Lions, Dominique Easley has been limited to say the least.

His first game back against Green Bay, Easley logged only 11 snaps. The following week, down to nine. In neither of those games did Easley record a tackle.

Those games were the most noticeable games where the Patriots were unable to get pressure on the QB unless a blitz was called. We could all see it, but Easley was not performing at 100% and his play reflected that.

Unfortunately for Easley, it doesn't appear that he is healthy enough to contribute in the role designed for him as a sub package pass rusher. While it could be possible to put him on a rest and recovery effort, where the Patriots sit him until the playoffs, it has been brought up on the team that putting him on IR may be ideal, according to Jeff Howe.

This should be taken with some optimism, as Easley is not further injured and should be primed to make a much larger impact next year with him not having to play catch up from missing camp and most of the offseason.

So far the move hasn't been made yet, and no other news outside of Howe's source has been made available, but Easley has missed the last three days of practice and all the signs point to him going on IR.

Crazier things have happened with injured players within the confines of Patriot Place, so until the move is made don't count anything out.
