Philip Rivers cranks up his game in the final four

In the last four games of the season, Philip Rivers has a higher win percentage than any other QB in the NFL(including Tom Brady).

This year, the last four games will be played in December. For December statistics, give the edge to New England Patriots QB Tom Brady over Philip Rivers. Tom's record is 45-7 for an 86.5% while Philip is 30-6 for 83.3%. To be mentioned in the same category with Tom is still pretty impressive.

The brainy son of a football coach and an 11-year veteran set to make his 141st start Sunday against Bill Belichick's Patriots, Philip Rivers can smooths out Xs and Os for blockers. He reads defenses well, both before and after the snap. Proving that men can multi-task, he senses where the rushers are yet continues to cycle through his reads.

Joining the Chargers was a great career move for King Dunlap, Chad Rinehart, D.J Fluker, Johnnie Troutman and the four centers who've started since Nick Hardwick went down.

Philip Rivers is why. He plays up an offensive line. As much as his blockers look after him, the quarterback takes care of them.

19 fourth quarter comebacks, and a lifetime pass completion of 64.8% are a few reasons why Philip Rivers is one of the elite QBs in the NFL. 60 TD passes to Antonio Gates are the most touchdowns between a single quarterback and tight end. Once again, he is barely ahead of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

This year's schedule will be the stiffest test for Philip Rivers and the Chargers. December's been kind to the Chargers in recent memory, but the final four games of this year's schedule suggests otherwise. There are home games with the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. The away games aren't any easier against the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. They should be well prepared for the tournament if they can take care of business.
