Rams' Jeff Fisher is not politically correct in the nation's capital

Jim Thomas, StL:
Never let it be said that Jeff Fisher lacks a sense of humor.
To wit, the Rams’ coach sent out Stedman Bailey, Michael Brockers, Janoris Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Zac Stacy and Greg Robinson for the pregame coin toss at FedEx Field....

That’s right, Bailey, Brockers, Jenkins, Ogletree, Stacy and Robinson were all drafted over the past three seasons from picks (and spinoff trades) from the 2012 trade that brought quarterback Robert Griffin III to Washington. Among that group, all but Stacy started Sunday.

The Rams also received RB Isaiah Pead who was out injured, and OG Rodevious Watkins, who was waived in the 2012 trade. That was a king's ransom for the backup QB of the Redskins.

Last Sunday, the Rams were led onto the field by the "hands up" group of Stedman Bailey, Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Chris Givens and Kenny Britt. The players were demonstrating the "hands up, don't shoot" gesture that protesters in Ferguson, Mo. have been using for months.

It is easy to make "statements" when the opponents are the Oakland Raiders, a 52-0 shutout and the Washington Redskins, a 24-0 whitewash. A real team visits this Thursday night when the 10-3, Arizona Cardinals take the field at the Edwards Jones Dome. St. Louis head coach, Jeff Fisher will send out the real team captains – as voted on by the players just before the start of the regular season – James Laurinaitis and Chris Long on defense; Shaun Hill on offense; and Johnny Hekker for special teams.
