Revis: I don't miss the Jets

Yep, sorry Jets fans. The guy who was once the cornerstone of your franchise is happier here in New England. And why wouldn't he be? He has a shot to get a ring on Sunday, which would be his first of his career.

Here's what he had had to say, per the New York Daily News:
“Do I feel sorry for the Jets fans?” Revis said during Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday. “It’s not really my fault. I didn’t make the call. Management made the call at that time and they felt it was best to get rid of me. So that’s the situation. That’s how I look at it.”

“Actually,” Revis said, “I don’t miss the Jets.”

It may have taken him a while to get to a contending team, but now it looks like he has a very good shot at getting his first ring. He's part of a new-look Patriots defense that has been much improved from years past that also includes ex-Seahawk cornerback Brandon Browner. The Jets? They're farther away from winning a Super Bowl than they were when they had Darrelle Revis, and they won't have another chance to win one until Tom Brady and/or Bill Belichick retires. That is, not for a while. Brady looks like he still has at least 2 or so productive years left in him. As for Bill Belichick? I'm sure he'll stick around longer to prove that he can win without a superstar quarterback, so who knows how long it'll be before the Jets can even compete for the AFC East crown, much less a Super Bowl? So, yeah, it looks like Revis is the smart one, and the Jets made a huge mistake trading him away (which is stating the obvious - Revis is one of the best corners in the game). I'm sure every Jets fan will be sick to their stomach if the Patriots win on Sunday and Revis gets his first ring.
