Nothing is over until Vince Wilfork says it is

After the doom and gloom of losing CB Darrelle Revis to the New York Jets yesterday, the New England Patriots need all the good news they can get. A return of DT Vince Wilfork to the defensive line would lessen the pain from losing the All-Pro cornerback.

Wikipedia:
It ain't over till (or until) the fat lady sings is a colloquialism. It means that one should not presume to know the outcome of an event which is still in progress. More specifically, the phrase is used when a situation is (or appears to be) nearing its conclusion. It cautions against assuming that the current state of an event is irreversible and clearly determines how or when the event will end. The phrase is most commonly used in association with organized competitions, particularly sports.

The letter from Vince Wilfork last week thanking the fans of New England for their love and support for his family was heartfelt. 11 years with one topnotch organization will do that. After stops in Houston, Philadelphia, and other foreign cities, the grass doesn't seem to be as green as it is Foxboro.

Take your time, Vince. "We'll leave the light on."
