Tim Tebow isn't finished with NFL, signs with Philly

The roller coaster ride is nearly at an end. Or is it? This will be stop number four for Tim Tebow on his journey through the NFL. The former first round pick of the Denver Broncos has a playoff victory to his credit, which is one more than Eagles' starting QB Sam Bradford.

Mike Kils, Denver Post:
Tebow's exhilarating 80-yard dart-and-run pass play targeted Demaryius Thomas, who capped the game-winning touchdown on the first play in overtime by pulling a Bo Jackson and running straight into the tunnel that led to the victorious locker room. The Denver Broncos had stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers, 29-23 on January 8, 2012 in the first round of the NFL playoffs.

The New York Jets took Tim Tebow off the hands of the Denver Broncos so Peyton Manning could have a place to play. Tebow backed up QB Mark Sanchez with the Jets, and Tim completed 75% of his passes in a relief role. Of course, it was on six of eight passing attempts. He was able to contribute 102 yards on 32 carries, but the Jets went in a different direction. Tim did as well, ending up with the New England Patriots in 2013.

Preseason with the Patriots was unkind to Tebow who struggled mightily, completing only 11 of 30 passes for 145 yards, two TD's and three interceptions. Tim was released by the Patriots in training camp. He has kept busy the past two seasons working for ESPN and the SEC network as an analyst.

"I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL QB", said Tebow. This will be the second time Tim will be backing up Mark Sanchez. Last time he backed up Sanchez, Tim was second on the depth chart. This time, he will be fourth string with the Philadelphia Eagles behind Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley.

Tim Tebow has worked extensively with throwing coach Tom House the past two years. House is a former left-handed major league pitcher who is best known for catching the record breaking 715th homerun in the Atlanta Braves' bullpen off the bat of Hank Aaron. Patriots' QB Tom Brady has also spent considerable time under the tutelage of the throwing guru. A link to two legends, and a work in progress.

Fans are always enamored with the backup QB. The dream may still alive, but let's hope they don't fill that analyst role on the SEC network.
