Bills and Dolphins pursuing La'el Collins
The three other AFC East teams are desperate to catch the Patriots. And in that desperation, two of those teams are pursing the forbidden fruit that is La'el Collins.
Collins, who many considered a first round talent, went undrafted in last weeks NFL draft due to his close ties with an ongoing murder investigation. While the police have maintained that he isn't a suspect, they did want to talk to him. That alone was enough to make all 32 teams pass on drafting Collins.
Now that he is an undrafted free agent, free to sign with any team, the Bills and Dolphins have set up meetings with him. In hopes that they will be able to sign him once he is cleared of any wrong doing.
Bills HC Rex Ryan passed through Baton Rouge, La., tonight and had an unsanctioned meeting with LSU OL La'el Collins, per @mikerodak and me.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) May 5, 2015
Miami also has sent head coach Joe Philbin and current Dolphin players that attended LSU with Collins

Collins hasn't been cleared yet but has said once cleared he will sign with an NFL team and that he has narrowed that list down. Its unknown what teams are on that list but one can surmise it contains teams that Collins feels like he could become a week one starter at the Tackle position. That would presumably rule out the Patriots, who have quality starters in Solder and Vollmer, but you can bet on the Patriots at lest doing their due diligence on him.
To answer the questions on #LSU OL La’El Collins that are filling up my mentions. If he’s completely cleared, yes, your team is interested.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 4, 2015
