Jordan Richards not at OTAs, finishing degree first

Patriots rookie safety Jordan Richards has not yet joined the team for organized team activities (OTAs) because he is finishing up his degree at Stanford. Richards is still in touch with the coaching staff, however. Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston reports that Richards is being brought up to speed on what was covered with the team each day.

The NFL has a rule that forbids players from participating in any team activities until their academic year ends.

Education first, kids.
