Patriots sign QB Matt Flynn

With the uncertainty of whether or not Tom Brady's four-game suspension will be reduced, the Patriots got some insurance at the quarterback position.

The team has signed veteran quarterback Matt Flynn. Patriots fans may remember Flynn, as he nearly helped the Packers beat New England in 2010. Flynn, aside from the Packers, has also spent time with the Raiders and Seahawks. He was also briefly with the Bills in 2013 but never took a snap.

While it's been well documented that Flynn's arm strength is almost non-existent, New England seems like a decent fit for him because they run tons of short pass plays.

If Brady's suspension does indeed hold, it's expected that Jimmy Garoppolo will start on opening night against the Steelers. Brady's hearing will be held on June 23.
