Patriots lose to Broncos 30-24 in overtime, amid key injuries

Well, the Denver Broncos were able to stifle the New England Patriots at home, despite losing Peyton Manning due to injury for the second straight week.

Backup Brock Osweiler threw for 270 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception in the win. Runningback C.J. Anderson ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was the game winning score in overtime.

The Patriots lost star tight end Rob Gronkowski late in the game. Gronk was carted off of the field and did not return with what was being called a possible MCL injury.

Tom Brady threw for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns, one to Gronkowski and two to running back Brandon Bolden. The Patriots built a 21-7 lead over Denver before eventually falling 30-24 in the extra period.

The perfect season is over, and the Patriots take on the 4-7 Philadelphia Eagles at Gilette next week.
