The Patriots have the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL

The New England Patriots' defense has steadily improved with each game. They had a bit of a hiccup against the New York Giants a few weeks ago, giving up 26 points, but that doesn't at all take away from the job the unit has done overall.

After holding the Buffalo Bills to 13 points last night, the Pats now have the best scoring defense in the NFL.

Given the way the game played out last night, the players on defense were truly the unsung heroes. They gave up only 233 yards through the air and Malcolm Butler had Sammy Watkins bottled up for the majority of the night, allowing the speedy receiver to haul in only three passes for 39 yards. The run defense, leaky in a few moments, was mostly on point. They limited LeSean McCoy to 82 yards on the ground, Karlos Williams to 11 yards and Tyrod Taylor to one.

The Patriots will need the defense to step up big time on Sunday against the Denver Broncos, especially if the offense continues to struggle.
