Once again, key Patriots were banged up yesterday

The Patriots finished their home schedule with a 33-16 win over the Tennessee Titans, but they didn't escape without suffering injuries to key guys.

Typical.

Danny Amendola, Dont'a Hightower and Patrick Chung all left with injuries and none of them returned. Initial reports on Hightower and Chung's injuries seem to suggest that they're nothing serious, but Amendola's is the one to watch out for.

He was on the sideline briefly for the second half but then went back to the locker room and stayed there. As of right now, there is no word on the severity of his injury.

The Patriots are going to get some reinforcements, though. Julian Edelman is set to return for the Week 17 match up against Miami, according to multiple reports. Devin McCourty will be back for the playoffs and Rob Gronkowski is healthy.

What's more, the Patriots clinched a first-round bye last night by virtue of the Pittsburgh Steelers defeating the Denver Broncos 34-27. Given the injuries New England has suffered, that bye week will be crucial moving forward.

The Pats can claim home field advantage throughout the playoffs if they beat the Jets this coming Sunday.
