Patriots waive Chris Harper

Wide receiver Chris Harper's stint with the Patriots didn't last long. The team cut Harper last night after his crucial muffed punt set the tone for the Denver Broncos eventual comeback win over New England on Sunday night.

Harper was filling in for Danny Amendola, who missed the game due to a hamstring injury. With Amendola set to return this weekend, Harper became expendable. Harper saw action against the Bills and Steelers this season and was one of the final roster cuts in training camp.

He could still make it back to the practice squad if no one claims him.
