The Jets are making a quarterback change after all

The Jets are replacing one mediocre quarterback with a less-than-mediocre quarterback.

Gang Green is benching Ryan Fitzpatrick, the guy everyone in the New York media (and Brandon Marshall) was clamoring for the team to sign, for Geno Smith.

Yes, this Geno Smith.

The Jets are 1-5 and looked brutally bad against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night. Fitzpatrick hasn't done them any favors, as he's thrown 11 interceptions this season and only five touchdown passes. Their season is pretty much over unless Smith suddenly becomes Tom Brady, but I guess it's worth a shot to throw Smith into the fire.

Smith came in for Fitzpatrick during the fourth quarter against the Cardinals and, as you would have expected, did not look good. He completed four of six passes and threw an interception on fourth down.

The Jets square off against a solid Ravens team this weekend, so Smith isn't going to catch a break this week. But that game they have against the Browns at the end of the month could be really fun to watch...
