Martellus Bennett open to staying with Patriots to help build his life after football

New England Patriots’ tight end Martellus Bennett is about to become an unrestricted free agent. While he has mentioned earlier in the year that his run with the Pats might only last one season, he took to Twitter to say otherwise.
On Wednesday, a fan reached out to Marty asking if he could “please stay in NE” because his platform could lead to great change in the Boston area.
There's a lot of truth in that. Could really build up everything I'm trying to do for life after football in Boston. You guys get it https://t.co/lI4YshQJGa— Martellus Bennett (@MartysaurusRex) February 15, 2017
Bennett agreed with the fan and started thinking about life outside of football. Boston would be a great place for him to expand his brands and continue working on his creative agency and clothing line.
The tight end, who will turn 30 next month, could be seeing tempting offers from other places with his recent status as a Super Bowl champion. But for now, he seems open to staying with the Patriots for reasons other than football.
It’s way too early in the offseason to tell what will happen, but staying put might be exactly what Marty B needs.
