The Darrelle Revis tampering situation was worse than the NFL led on

The Jets really wanted Darrelle Revis back after the 2014-2015 season, and they got what they wanted. But I bet they wish they could get rid of him now.

The Jets were fined $100,000 for tampering, but that was the only big news that came out of all that.

But no one knew the extent of the tampering, because of course the NFL tried to sweep it under the rug.

Jets team officials were apparently communicating with Revis, Inc. through private cell phones and private face-to-face meetings at the NFL Scouting Combine.

But for those who are unfamiliar with how tampering works, that's basically a textbook definition of how it goes.

Revis will be going into the third year of a five-year deal he signed after winning Super Bowl with XLIX with the Patriots, provided the Jets don't cut him amid all the controversy currently surrounding him. The Pats declined to pick up his $20 million option, which paved the way for his deal with New York.
