Former Jaguars DL Jared Odrick visits Patriots

The New England Patriots are getting a jump on adding more depth and talent to their roster.

Free agency doesn’t begin until March 9, but the Patriots recently hosted defensive lineman Jared Odrick, as reported by Mike Kaye of First Coast News. Kaye also claimed that Odrick took and passed a physical with the team.

Odrick was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Feb. 20, allowing him to test the market and sign with another team immediately if he were to choose to do so.

The 6-foot-5, 298-pound defensive lineman began his NFL career in Miami after he was a first-round draft pick in 2010. He played for the Dolphins from 2010-2014 and completed the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Odrick led Jacksonville in 2015 with 5.5 sacks.

He did not miss a game from 2011-2015, but was limited to just six games this past season when he was placed on season-ending injured reserve after battling multiple injuries.
