Patriots release RB Tyler Gaffney

In a move that seems like it's happened 37 times, the Patriots have released running back Tyler Gaffney.
Gaffney has had an injury-riddled career and has barely seen the field since being drafted in the sixth round by the Carolina Panthers in 2014.
The Pats previously cut Gaffney at the end of the 2016 pre-season when he suffered a foot injury, but brought him back to the practice squad in October of that year and never appeared in a game.
With four running backs on the roster, the release of Gaffney makes sense. But the Patriots could always bring him back to the practice squad.
