It’s NFL Draft Week, and the rumors are starting to fly, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter wants to make one thing clear: he REALLY thinks quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo “isn’t going anywhere.”
This means that none of the interested teams have or will make an offer that the New England Patriots can’t refuse. And it would take multiple first-round picks for Belichick and company to change their minds, which no team seems to be willing to do. So, for 2017, it looks as though Jimmy G is staying put as a backup to Tom Brady.ICYMI (in February): Jimmy Garappolo isn't going anywhere. His name continues to surface in trade rumors and speculation - not happening.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 23, 2017
Garoppolo started the Patriots’ first two games last season while Brady was serving his suspension. He completed over 71 percent of his passes and racked up 496 yards and four touchdowns during that time. He will be entering the final year of his rookie contract this upcoming season.
