Add another accolade to the GOAT’s already impressive list.

EA Sports announced this morning that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be featured on the cover of Madden NFL 18.

The five-time Super Bowl champion will become the oldest player ever to appear on the cover of this popular game, as he will turn 40 in August. He follows in the footsteps of teammate Rob Gronkowski who was on last year’s cover. This is the first time in Madden’s history that teammates have been on back-to-back covers.

Brady grew up just a few miles from where Electronic Arts opened, in San Mateo, California. Thanks to a close friend who worked at the company, he was able to work out in the EA gym when growing up.

“When this all came about, I thought, ‘How cool is that to do this knowing when I was a kid in high school I was tagging along down there, working out where it all started?’” Brady said, “It’s been such a great game over a long period of time. I played it so much when I was younger, a little less now. My son Jack loves beating up on me.”

“But to be the one to represent our team on the cover, I never thought I’d have the opportunity to do it. Personally, I think it’s very cool.”

Madden NFL 18 drops August 25.
