Former Patriot Lester Williams has passed away

A member of the Patriots' very first Super Bowl team, former nose tackle Lester Williams, passed away yesterday at his home in Alabama. He was 58 years old.

Williams was drafted by New England in 1982 out of the University of Miami and spent the first four years of his career there. He also played for the Chargers in 1986 and the Seahawks in 1987.

During his tenure with the Patriots, Williams played in 40 games, amassing 39 solo tackles, 60 assisted, five sacks, three fumble recoveries and five passes defended.
