New England Patriots football is back, well almost.

Tonight’s preseason matchup between New England and the Jacksonville Jaguars will put younger players - who are hoping to make the final cuts of the roster - on display tonight at Gillette Stadium.

According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Tom Brady, Brandin Cooks and Rob Gronkowski are not expected to play in the preseason opener.

The three of them have been full participants in the joint practices with the Jaguars – getting a lot of reps and work in. So, they are expected to sit this game out.

Look for young talent to be showcased throughout the preseason. Tonight’s game kicks off at 7:30pm.
