Wes Welker had an incredible NFL career.

From undrafted special teamer to working with two of the greatest quarterbacks ever, Welker became the epitome of the underdog story we know and love; and it is all documented on NFL Network’s most recent episode of A Football Life, that was aired on Friday, Oct. 6.

When the 5-foot-9-inch receiver burst onto the New England Patriots’ scene, he developed a deep connection with Tom Brady and thoroughly etched his name in the Patriots’ record books.

Welker recorded the most receptions, the second-most receiving yards and the eighth-most touchdowns in New England Patriots' history, along with a slew of other achievements. While his on-the-field accomplishments are what he’s known for, his off-the-field antics weren’t too far behind.

It was back in 2011, before the Patriots’ divisional playoff game against the New York Jets, that Welker took his antics to another level. In a pregame press conference, he decided that he would see how many answers he could connect to “feet.” Yes, feet.

This strange, yet hilarious idea emerged from a bizarre video in which then-head coach of the Jets, Rex Ryan, revealed an apparent foot fetish.

Welker was able to make 10 “feet” references in his epic press conference that can be seen below.

“I guess I just got tired of him being the guy that talked trash the whole time,” Welker said. “So I was like okay, fine. I’m going to do it.”

Although Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick may not have enjoyed his prank – Welker was sidelined for part of that upcoming game against the Jets – quarterback Tom Brady seemed to enjoy it and remembers if fondly.

“Wes always brought a lot of life to things and he had a great personality, always keeping things light for everybody,” Brady said. “Who cares if it got him in trouble? Nobody really gives a sh—about that.”
