John’s Well-Educated Guesses: Week 10 – The Recap

Every week I make predictions about how things will play out in the game.  I’m a man of integrity and I always answer for my predictions.  It’s time to pay the piper.

Prediction:  Brock Osweiler throws a pick.  I never like to predict turnovers because they are kinda fluky by nature.  That being said, Brock is good for at least one a game right?  Let’s hope he can make the Pats defense look good.

Result:  This is like clockwork.  Set your watch to it.  It might have come late, but I knew this was going to happen.

Prediction:  Von Miller gets two sacks.  Marcus Cannon is still hurt, and although I think LaAdrian Waddle has stepped up well, (See his performance against JJ Watt.) he is going to be overmatched.  (P.S. What ever happened to Cameron Fleming?? That guy used to start for us and now he is the 4th tackle)

Result:  Very wrong and I’m pretty happy about it.  I tried to keep my eye on this matchup for most of the game.  It looked like Waddle was given help a lot, and he accounted well for himself too.  Devlin or Gronk was chipping Miller when he wasn’t dropping into coverage for some unknown reason.  It seems weird that there is a shortage of good Tackles in this league, and the Pats seem to have at least 3.

Prediction:  They will show Patriots players using oxygen masks at least 3 times.  That altitude is the greatest home field advantage in all of sports.  They also like talking about it.  I’m saying it’s gonna be a factor.

Result:  If this happened I missed it.  Very weird how the altitude can be such a factor in the last playoff game and seem like no big deal this time around.

Prediction:  Pats Win 27-17 – Hope they enjoy staying on the road for the week.  In the past it has brought the team closer together which is huge down the stretch.

Result:  Didn’t think this would be a Pat’s blowout win….Not with this defense at least.  Either way I’ll take it.  Hoping to beat up on the Raiders and put this part of the schedule behind us.
