The Patriots have acquired wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson and a sixth-round pick from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Patterson, who was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in 2013, hasn't done much as a wide receiver and is best known as a good special teams player with great speed. He has 153 career returns for 4,613 yards and five touchdowns.

He is in the final year of his contract and is owed a base salary of $3 million.
